Authorized to Be Me: Embracing Inner-Authority through Mindful Photography

In the whimsical world of self-discovery and mindful photography, I find myself donning the hat of a "Mindful Photography Facilitator". After completing the Look Again Mindful Photography Facilitator program, my mind has become a canvas where new ideas, like vibrant blossoms, paint the landscape of my thoughts.

As I embark on this creative journey, I'm learning that there are no limits to the mind. It's a space where my thoughts converse with other inspiring minds, and even with the divine. The mind, when given the freedom to speak to another, or to God Himself, can mold itself into anything my heart desires.

Recently, someone asked me, "What do you love to do?" An easy and open-minded puzzling question, right? :))) I woke up today initially feeling shut off from the world around me. However, after a few hours of intentional breathing, non-reactivity, and letting the energy flow where it needs to, a new vista opens up in front of my mind's vision, and oh, it feels so good!

I am determined to continue writing in this blog, exploring various topics that impassion me, starting with a simple idea or a single word. This time, the theme is inspired by the consciousness of authority. Who or what gives me the authority to be me? It may seem absurd to expect this from someone or something external, but I feel this limitation within myself. On the other hand, the "Big Me" inside unequivocally declares that as long as the sun continues to shine and the moon waxes and wanes, I am authorized to be myself abundantly. I am called to annul the belief that I don't know who I am and that I need someone's permission. Instead, I am urged to feel and embrace my fullness.

God made me, and in Her presence first and foremost, I respond with humility, strength, love, tears, demands, prayers, and burning desires. I have His undeniable permission to Be in every breath of this life. Do you hear this, Andrada? :)))

Now, let's augment these ideas with the practical benefits and favorable applications for my well-being through the use of mindful photography.

Incorporating the practice of mindful photography into my life has become a transformative journey, adding depth and richness to my exploration of self-authority and autonomy. Here's why the union of mindful photography and self-discovery is not just a whimsical idea but a practical and beneficial endeavor for my well-being:

Enhanced Presence: Mindful photography compels me to be fully present in the moment, capturing not just images but the emotions, sounds, and sensations associated with them. This heightened presence contributes to a more enriched and meaningful experience of life.

Creative Expression: Through the lens, I find a unique and personal channel for creative expression. Each photograph becomes a canvas where I can convey my emotions, thoughts, and perceptions, allowing me to authentically express myself.

Mind-Body Connection: Engaging in mindful photography requires a connection between the mind and the body. As I frame a shot, adjust settings, and focus, I become acutely aware of my physical sensations and the intricate interplay between my thoughts and actions.

Cultivation of Awareness: Mindful photography encourages me to observe and appreciate the details of the world around me. It promotes a deepened awareness of my surroundings, fostering a sense of gratitude for the beauty and uniqueness present in everyday moments.

Reflection and Insight: Reviewing captured images becomes a reflective practice. Each photograph serves as a snapshot of a moment in time, allowing me to gain insights into my emotions, perspectives, and the evolving narrative of my life.

Empowerment Through Choice: The act of choosing subjects, angles, and compositions empowers me to make intentional decisions. This sense of choice extends beyond photography, influencing how I navigate and shape my life.

Connection with Nature: Mindful photography often involves capturing the beauty of nature. This connection with the natural world has proven therapeutic, grounding me in the present moment and fostering a sense of interconnectedness.

Stress Reduction: Immersing myself in the creative process of mindful photography provides a welcomed escape from daily stressors. It becomes a meditative practice, allowing me to find solace and tranquility in the act of capturing images.

Self-Discovery: The camera becomes a tool for self-discovery. By exploring different subjects and perspectives, I uncover facets of myself and my interests that may have been previously unnoticed or overlooked.

Joyful Exploration: Mindful photography transforms the act of exploration into a joyful and immersive experience. Whether in familiar surroundings or new landscapes, the camera becomes a companion on a journey of discovery and appreciation.

In conclusion, the marriage of mindful photography with the exploration of authority and autonomy amplifies the benefits for my overall well-being. It's not merely a visual endeavor but a holistic practice that intertwines creativity, self-awareness, and a deep connection with the present moment. Through the lens, I discover not only the world around me but also the vast landscapes within.
